They are both so different, I can't tell which I like best...

Very nice, both of them.  And I agree about the housework - would much rather play.

If your choices are either glasswork or housework....I would pick glasswork!

Beautiful Annabelle, Love the dragon mirror, the colors are just great and the soldering looks terrific too!  The overlay for the claws perfect!
I also like the tree of life..would you share a bit of how you made it and the materials in it with us?

My goodness!!!  Thank you so much for all the kudos!!!!  I will have to work on getting close-ups of parts of the tree so you can see details...As to how I made it...Well, I start out with a length of electrical wire.   I take off all the coverings and solder all the wires together somewhere (in this case, since it was to be a tree, I soldered one end far enough up to be a trunk)....then I start separating the individual wires in 1's and 2's.  When I have the shape I want, I then tin everything...It is something like I would imagine) soldering a snake, because it wiggles a lot....I did not try to cover every little bit of the sculpture, because this was, after all, a tree.  I want the structure to age differently in places, and darken unevenly.  Then I pulled out my junk jewelry and misc stuff....This was to be called Tree of Life, so I considered lions and tigers and bears, oh my!...but ruled it out.  I added the sun at the top, I placed Eve and the apple on it (I had Adam, but he was not the metal I thought he was, and he had a meltdown when I tried to put him on), since some folks live for baseball, I replaced Adam with a baseball player...There are raindrops, flowers, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, a bee, a fish, a turtle......and a snake....After covering it with stuff, I went back with Color Magic and sort of slapped on some...not all over, though.  Then with Color Magic, and other paints, I painted the leaves (which were cut from copper mesh and thin brass (I think) fabric, then tined), sprinkled glitter dust on them.  To sign it, I bought a small dichroic glass pre-drilled piece in the jewelry dept at Michaels, and etched my name on it and hung it from one of the lower branche near the trunk...I think I have about 20 hours in it.  The only real expense was the electrical wire.  Everything else was yard sale stuff...junk jewelry, mostly.  When I make these sculptures to hang on the wall, I always make a place on it by stragtegically placing a gap in the wire to place a nail, or 2 depending on the structure, and how it is to hang (vertically, or horizontally)..If it is to hang horizontally, you will probably need to places for nails.  Does any of this make sense??  Questions?  This is one of the classes I teach advanced students, and it is a shock to them when they walk in to find a length of electrical wire in front of them..I always show lots of images to help them generate ideas, so I don't throw them to the creative wolves..... annabelle

Housework?  What is housework?  I hate doing jobs that will just need to be done over again in a few days.  With glasswork you end up with a finished project that stays finished.  Besides, I'm allergic to dust and housework just stirs it up.

As SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) insists - "I'm domestically challenged, housework is for domestics!"
