Wow, I was surprised to see this thread! Thanks for the warm welcome.
Between the cottage and having a friend visit I have been busy with
keeping both houses running smoothly, and tending to the gardens.

The friend is from California and we met in 2002 on a garden junk form.
Had never seen her in person though we did once talk on the phone.
Had a blast showing her my city and the cottage. I wore her out.
She brought good weather with her. Great timing as once again we are back to rain.

Leaving this Friday for 2 weeks, and once again no computer access. Packing up all my supplies so that
I can work on the cottage dinningroom table undisturbed. The plan
is when I get back I can show you how "The Gathering" which is a glass on glass creation turned out
providing that I don't break any glass unintentionally.
Kev designed it for me.  smiley

I did show my friend how to foil, tin, and solder...but I had already told her to read as much as possible
before she starts trying to do things on her own.

The screen is jumping around and its difficult to type and really hard on my eyes....hope this problem can be fixed.

I'm definitely busy and it's been interesting but where is the normal summer weather?
After my friend left it rained. Today I dropped off the van to have the windshield replaced
and I walked home in a light rain. Didn't mind that so much but I miss the sunshine too much
at this point.

Win some, lose some...that's life!

Same here Helen.  We only had 6 days of sun in all of June and July has already set a record for the wettest since records started being kept.  We have saved a bundle on ac this year, as so far we have only had it on 3 times.

Yep, unfortunately it's the same picture here. rain rain and more rain, a couple of days of sun and back to rain, rain and more rain.  This has been the coldest/wetest summer I can recall...I'm beginning to wonder why I bothered to get summer clothes out this year?  Rainwear, long sleeves and jeans seem to be the wardrobe I need to wear...and sadly I haven't put away the fleece yet.  Ugh.

Helen, it sounds like you are going to be very productive!  Good for you, what I wouldn't give to be able to transport my shop to a place that had no phone, tv or other people around.  I might get something done too.  Can't wait to see The Gathering..if it's the one I'm thinking of it will be beautiful!

Glad to see you here!  De
