I had designed this last year when my grand daughter had started swimming.  Due to the size, I delayed creating the panel, in case the swimming fell to the same priority level that skating had, "none".  She is continuing for at least this year.  She has started helping me with house cleaning, (for a small fee of course LOL), so I am making this for her, now.  I desperately needed a break from making sun catchers.

I modified the original pattern that I posted in November, as I was not at all happy with the hand, so I buried it in the water, problem gone LOL

I started cutting this last night and only got to grind a few pieces prior to thunderstorms rolling in.  It is all set to foil now, should be ready to solder by tonight.

thanks everyone.  It is an easier piece for sure.  Jen has seen the early stage and loved it.  She said the blue is her second fave color after orange

Thanks Graham, Di and Barbara.

Thought for sure I would have the foiling finished tonight so I could start soldering in the morning, but NO, I have to get an attack of "I can't keep my eyes open",  so as a consequence, it is only about 3/4 done on the foiling.

Oh, she's going to love that!
I still treasure everything that my grandma gave to me, whether she made it or bought it. She was an artist, too! It's nice to have a creative grandma, you get gifts that no one else can have!
She's a lucky girl!

Thank you so much for the kind words.  I am hoping that she will take care of this.

I know that when I made her her doll house years back she cherished it because she was asking me where it went the other day. I swear her mother threw it away.  Jenna was pretty upset cause she couldn't find it.  I had it here until my sister had moved in and I had to clear the shelves off in that room.  I worked on that doll house for countless hours, including wallpapering each room.  I had even got her the wooden furniture for it.  We had planned on making a second floor for it but never got around to it.

Nice Joan!  Wow you finished that one quickly!  Jenna is going to just adore this!  I'll bet she'll take very good care of it!  Any swimmer would love this pattern!

The solder has really enhanced this piece. I know she will love it. I want to hear a report of the way she reacts.
