Hey guys!

Our new retail gallery is open for business.

Members will have the opportunity to post their artwork for sale, or just as a gallery if that is what they choose. De and I tried a test entry adding a paypal button and it worked beautifully!

To become a member of this additional service of AOG, Denise, Alan or Myself will initially have to create an account for you. What we will need from you via a pm, is a user name, and a valid email address, and a studio name. We initially will supply you with a password which you will use with your user name to sign in for the first time. Once logged in, you can change the password via your profile by selecting "Site Admin".

This is very cool, and to, looks clean and professional. It might not be perfect in everyway, but it's a free place to show your art, and we as members can control what is sold...ie, no fake stained glass, just quality goods.

Check it out: retailgallery.artisansofglass.com/

It's a beautiful thing!  Kev has worked hard to create a place where we as members of AOG can make the beautiful items we create bring us some income!  The Paypal button works great and will take buyers directly to their Paypal account so that they may complete their transaction with you.  For those of you who do not use Paypal, when the customer completes the transaction you will receive an email from Paypal alerting you that their funds have reached your Paypal account.  You also may transfer those funds directly back into your checking account.  But when you receive the email from them you will need to acknowledge it to indicate when and how your item will be shipped and thank them for their puchase.  The purchasers information: name, address and email will be contained in the email as well as in your Paypal account.
I'm sure that those of us with Paypal experience will be more than happy to help you set up your business account, and the site itself will have contact points for direct help with the site.

For those of you who would prefer to have nothing to do with Paypal...you may add a post to your retail store indicating that the customer should contact you directly by email to make payment.  Whether that be the ability to take credit card transactions or to ask for a Bank issued check (or other safe payment method).

This is exciting and I really want to thank Kev for all of his hard work in continuing to try to find a method that would work for us that is an easy to use retail market!  Here, Here for Kev!!

Oh how cool, can't wait to get home to get mine set up...

Thanks Kev, De and Alan for making this work....

For those of you who don't use paypal, I have used it for over 5 years and am more than happy to answer any questions you may have; I've had experience with bounced checks and non-payers as a sell and paypal's reaction to non-shippers as a buyer.

Kev, you have really out done yourself.  How great that you would take the time to set this up for the members.  I will try setting mine up either later tonight or in the am.

Sorry I didn't mean to leave De and Alan out of the praise.  I wish I understood the ins and outs of these machines, like they do.  The contributions made by Alan and De are truly appreciated.

Thanks you are the best

For the purpose of assisting new members signing up initially and learning their way around the retail gallery, I have placed the chat screen from the bottom of AOG also onto the new site. With the other site, you cannot see when there is someone else on the site. If you encounter difficulty with a process while on that site, you can ask a question in the chat screen and hopefully Alan, De, or myself will be around to catch your question and off assistance. This is just a temporary measure to assist with this process.

As far as privacy, there is no difference than what is there now. The chat at the bottom of AOG is a public chat open to anyone to view it, which will also apply to the bridged chat screen, as it is a copy of the same screen. Only members on the retail site will be able to initiate their own page, posts, and content, though visitors will be able to leave comments in regards to these.

If you have any questions, we are more than happy to assist you.
