So this is a 7" by 9" panel of Cape Spear, Newfoundland that a client asked for, based on a photo she found online. I like it but I'm getting really itchy and have to do something that's way more me now *lol. To the drawing board *smiles*!!

Thanks folks, I still feel much better in my element of abstract but it's a good lesson to be doing things like this.... it just takes longer to like them *lol. I tell ya all those little pieces were a bugger  . I didn't have any thin foil so I had to trim it by hand so it wouldn't cover the pieces too much. I found that with Sakuras the blossoms had an edgy look because the foil sharpened the corners since it was too big so I have to say I'm learning a lot by doing more traditional work!!!!! What really matters is it looks like the original photo and the client likes it *smiles*.

Looks just like the ad for Nfld & Lab tourism that I see 10 times a night on TV.

It deserves to be bigger than 7"X9"!

Cool and thanks *smiles*, It would have been fun (and easier *lol) to do bigger but the client is getting two small panels as wedding gifts (different weddings) and we were trying to stay within her budget. When she said she liked the photo I knew it had a lot of cuts that were needed but I really like the glow that it had and it paid off in the end, I've heard that she's considering having a few things done for christmas by me so it helped to solidify a relationship. *fingers crossed*.

It's beautiful!  If you need narrow foil and don't have any, you can cut the foil with scissors before you peel the backing off.  Much easier than foiling and then cutting.  You can also use decorative scissors and make your own custom foil.

yeah, I cut the foil tape before applying, I think it would have taken forever to try it any other way *lol. I really like the tip about decorative foil!!!!
