That was my thought as well Becki. I could try and add the paint and see what I could do with it, but I hate starting with a mistake right at the get-go.

I keep all my fusing glass separate from my regular glass. I thought the last time I bought a large sheet of yellow for another projeect, that it said it was 96 fusible...I guess not! I thought it was all the same glass I was using.
I'll have to find some use for this piece now...maybe refuse it with other colors laid on top.
Drat!

Kev, the same darned thing happend to me with the beveled panel, and yet I know that i used all the same piece of glass for the thing. I had ordered a huge piece I think 18x 20 (something like that) just for the project.

What a shame Kev. Your knot really turned out well despite the orange striker..I hate when that happens.
Would it be possible to cut out the imposter and insert the real yellow ?

And it came out so well. If only that top right orange piece wasn't there it would be balanced and look intentional.

Attempt # 2. This time I was able to get it all on a 10" circular piece of clear glass which will avoid the transition of 1/4" glass to 1/8" when the lead work begins. While I was at the shop they had some grape and red COE 96 small nuggets so I picked them up and added them to the piece. This time I know all the glass is the same stuff! In looking at the previous piece, though I think it turned out great, It fused a little more than I would have liked, so I removed the 5 min hold at peak temp of 1400, and also increased the soak at 1220 degrees from 20 mins to 30 mins as there were just a few teeny bubbles in it.
Di...not sure if I passed this on or not, but pick yourself up some denatured alcohol to clean the pieces before you do your final assembly of them...wipe your fingertips with it and then clean the glass ...it works great and you will have no fingerprints on your glass.

Kev I like the added nuggets and putting it on a large circle will be much easier when putting it together. I have some denatured alcohol and have been using it to clean my glass before foiling for a while, but thanks for the info.

wow, go away for a bit and look what you miss. Such a shame on the first fuse Kev! for you on this one. Firing it on to the precut circle is a great idea and should help in cutting down on steps as you go. Looking forward to seeing tomorrows pics.

Looks good, Kev. The glass cleaning tip is a good one too. I clean first with soap and water then a final clean with alcohol and wipe with a microfiber cloth.
