I started this project today. I decided to fuse the knot work with a dimensional fuse, and then add paint to it in some fashion yet to be determined. It's currently in the kiln now. I have also decided to use some large cabochons (nuggets) as part of the thistle since I already had them and it will add a nice touch I believe to the overall look of the piece. I have a red cabochon in the center of the fused piece that was a nugget made when I made the bubbles for the last project, so I figured I'd use that as well.

One of $Red Skelton's characters used to say there was a limit to his drinking, but he always passed out before he got to it.
Ya figure 150 pieces will knock you out??

Graham, if this was to me.....no, I just hate small pieces and unless the overall project is quite large the more pieces there are the more small pieces there are too. That and Kev loves tiny pieces and I think it's funny he can't shake that habbit lol.

Malinda, if you find a piece that means enough to you, you won't care how many pieces it has. The second pieces I did, (my butterfly panel) had 87 background (diamond lights) all by itself. I loved the design, so I didn't even think about the number of pieces.

Well surprise surprise. I thought when I was putting it together that a few of the pieces looked a little different..i even took 2 pieces and held them up to the light and they looked the same....obviously not! As you can see by the first pic..it all looks yellow. I suspect somehow or other a regular piece of yellow glass got mixed in with my fusing glass and the color striked to an orange. ..and it fused so well! I guess it's back to square one again.

Oh my!! If you'd just had a few more pieces thrown in there it might have looked intentional! Too bad, Kev...it did fuse well.
