So here's  the lighthouse that someone asked me to make. I've got 2 others like it cut and ready to grind and I think I'm going to change the wire running down the front and actually cut the white piece in half.... I'll like it on the whole much better.
My attempt at something not abstract *smiles*!

It looks nice, I always like the colors in lighthouse projects but for the life of me can't understand the fascination for them. I need educating I guess.

It turned out well Amber. I guess for me the attraction to lighthouses is that it reminds me of the seacoast which in turn reminds me of home. I'm not a collector of them, but for me there is a sense of familiarity and calmness as in the waves breaking on the rocks.

Here in Arizona, we have a lot of transplants from the east coast, especially from the areas where lighthouses are very prominent - and I think they get a little homesick for the ocean and all of the things associated with the coast lines.

Dulce is a kelp found in the Bay of Fundy around Grand Manan Island. A local delicacy.

I haven't toasted it Kev, usually just eat it plain but I think I'll have to try it your way!!!

Alan, it's just a fancy name for seaweed, it's been dried and has a really salty flavour... yum!

OK - I have made a Japanese soup made with Wakame (dried seaweed), Dashi soup base (or Bonito flakes), tofu and some green onion for garnish. Has a different texture to say the least, but not a bad taste at all.

See, I need educating! I've heard of Fiddleheads but not Dulce, please elucidate!
Alan, I have lived by, on, over, off and almost in water. Lighthouses have been a lifeline when searchjing for a safe anchorage, I've partied in, slept in, done the tourist in and helped clean and paint in and still can't see the fascination!
I do admit to admiration of those that have worked to guide us home, don't think there are many of them left now, and I do enjoy a cuppa at the top if those darn stairs, but I can't see the fascination! I also admit to a passing liking to those leggy Cheasapeake lighthouses, preferably passing in a Skipjack, they are both a pretty sight!
...Ahh, the Dulce is good stuff, I like Kelp. Fiddleheads???

Nice job on the lighthouse panel Amber.  I don't know what the fascination is, all I can say is that I live in a place where lighthouses dot our coasts and bring home the men of the sea to safe harbors.  So for my neck of the woods lighthouses are a way of life and I still enjoy seeing them.

I haven't made one yet...but may one of these days.  It just reminds me of home.

Nice panel, Amber!!   Thumbs Up 3

Lighthouse stuff sells very well here.  Especially with the NC lighthouses so close and loads of people go there on vacations.

Came out very well. I guess I am attracted to lighthouses because I love waterscapes, and they seem to belong there. I enjoy the shapes and uniqueness of the different lighthouses. I don't think I have ever actually seen one, though growing up we vacationed at the beach frequently.
