My first floral plate

This is my first leaded panel.  (A couple small trivets done before I dont want to talk about!!!!)

The glass in the pic that looks black is actually green and the pics do not do justice to it.

I am very happy the way it turned out.

Its not looking green on my computer, but i am also somewhat colorblind.  Yes I liked lead, as i am not real good at soldering yet,,,, have several foil projects on the drawing board, but no leaded projects,,,,since i am not good at soldering yet, thought i would force myself by doing only foil for several projects before another leaded one.

I really love that piece.  The colors are, as everyone has said, very striking.  I am hoping to take a lead class soon (depending on my job), and I would be thrilled to end up with something half as nice as this!

The colors are beautiful, and the green does look green. Can't believe it is your first lead piece. I had to destroy mine.

I think you did a fantastic job with this Tom. The design, colors, and the lead work itself all proudly say "Look at me"!

My leaded class is done, and my lamp class is done, but I wasnt able to finish the lamp yet.  I have some more work to do then I will post it as well.

The place I was taking lessons is about 100 miles north of me.  They dont have any more classes scheduled at this time, but said they may have some one day or week end classes scheduled later, so I am now going to check with the big city 100 miles south of me to see if I can find any there.  Hopefully I will find something.

Thank you all for the nice comments.  I am very critical of my own work normally, but I do like this piece.  I have it hanging in my studio.  Hopefully it will keep me inspired.

That looks terrific! The second pic shows off the textured glass, adds a lot of sparkle!
Great job! It sure doesn't look like a "first" piece to me!

Tom, I love all that texture.  Did you enjoy making this one?  That is the secret of wanting to do it again, if you enjoy, then it makes you want to jump in and do more.
