Another option for table cloths is to buy restaurant quality ones -- there are a lot of places that sell them pretty cheap and they are already hemmed...

I use similar bins to Anne's except mine are deeper... I found the underbed size she has is too long for me to handle; I don't have a cart (yet) and I'm generally loading and unloading by myself... I too use smaller boxes inside mine for my ornaments and smaller pieces. I also put my table clothes and bags in the open space at the top (extra padding)...

Thanks Nancy! I'm looking forward to using this at my next show. It's going to be such a treat to not have a sore back from bending over after we set up!

I just remembered another reason I went with the deeper containers is I can stand my pieces one in front of the other instead of laying them on top of each other...

I read somewhere not to store pieces stacked and I have my boxes labeled and leave my pieces in them year round...

I still have to raise my tables but I bought the stuff after my last show -- the jewelry table next to me was owned by the daughter of a man who promotes gun shows so he gave us all kinds of tips like the table raisers -- if I can find my notes, I'll post them here...

Anne,

If you're a sitter, you may want to set up your table at home with the extensions and put your chairs behind it to see if you still like them behind the higher table... the gun show man had folding stools that they used so they (the sellers) were still visible in the booth and didn't feel like they were peering over the top of the table... I don't think I took a picture of what he had (should have though)

Good advice!  Don't transport your glass with the pieces stacked one on top of another either without a really good layer of bubble wrap between them if you have to do so!  What I do is small - my pieces are side by side in my bins except for what has to go in the cardboard boxes with bubble wrap. Anything bigger went in a bin similar to what Lou Ann has described, but as I've mentioned before I don't find I sell a lot of bigger pieces so rarely carry them around anymore.

Wow thanks for the pics Anne. Those bins seem to be the perfect size. We made extensions for my glass room table too make it taller, I guess Ill have to have Art make more....but most places here furnish the tables

I mentioned in my other post about doing my fist 10' by 10' booth in about 3 weeks and I popped into this section to get a thorough review from everyone's comments last summer. Very glad I did!
A few of you mentioned that people are more inclined to browse to browse your glass when your table stretched across the entry, rather then having a set up where people entered your booth. I've taped off a 10' by 10' section downstairs after realizing my shelf wasn't going to be strong enough and was struggling with ideas when I read all this, now I'm wondering if I should go this way like you guys? I want to maximize the use of table to fill a nice amount of product, I don't mind keeping extra stock in a bin on hand either.

Is it odd to set up 2 banquet table squished together parallel to each other at the entry?  =   I could keep stuff further back so it's still on display but it may be harder to reach if someone wants to pick it up?

Not sure what you are asking here... are you saying you would have a display that is 4' wide at the front of your booth (assuming each table is 2' by however long)? If that is what you are saying, I think that would be cumbersome as far as reaching the stuff you display in the middle... I would be afraid of things getting knocked over.

What I have done is form an L with the longer table across the front. I put my laptop elevated above the glass on the back of the shorter table with a slide show presentation of my work going all the time...

We have also talked of forming an off center H with the longer table still in the middle but more toward the back and the two smaller tables on either side -- I have large display stands for smaller pieces that I can put on the back of the smaller tables to utilize that space to the maximum.

Hope this helps

You can find them just about anywhere Nancy, you can load them with pics from your computer and set them up to do a slideshow of the pictures.
I purchased a relatively inexpensive one..I think it was supposed to be 5 x 7, but the pictures are actually more like 3 x 5's, I'm wishing it were larger.  But it does the trick, and people will stand around to watch them.
I took it for the Xmas shows I did this past winter season and some of the photo's showed the process of making something out of SG.  People seemed to enjoy it.
I'd buy a bigger one than what I purchased.

Walmart!!! I think I saw them when I was down there but I didn't focus on them. Is that ever a good price! Probably Best Buy might have a bigger version?

Thanks De. I'll definitely keep that in mind:)

Would you believe it's snowing here now? lol

They are pretty cool and I think they carry larger versions also..wish I'd bought one. LOL.  I'll bet that they have many to choose from at Best Buy also!
Good luck!
