Nancy, that is absolutely incredible. I'm a clear textured freak and I have to say I don't think I've ever seen anything as stunning as this piece is. How long did it take you to make this piece? Congratulations, I'm just blown away!!

The pattern took me a couple of evenings to play around with in Glass Eye to get the effects I wanted. Plus, I was still learning with that program. The actual cutting and foiling took about 5 good days. It took time to sort through the scrap glass to get as much out of them as I could and go though the other sheet glass to get the texture combos I was looking for. Soldering, patina, waxing and cleaning out all those little crevasses took another day. So probably a week in total. My companion slid out of retirement for a couple of weeks, so I was able to devote steady time with it, with periodical visits with friends on the forum...lol. Then I'd feel refreshed and dive back into it again. It was fun to make, but there were sure alot of narrow pointed pieces in that design. It was a good exercise on how NOT to break those points off:)
When I do things for myself, I don't think about the time it takes for me to finish a piece. I enjoy the journey it takes to complete it. If it sells, great, but I do enjoy seeing it at my place. It's a one time attempt for this piece. Right now, it's on display at an Artist's Café for the summer.
