Here is something I finished during the winter. It gave me a chance to use up some odd pieces of clear textures I had. This panel changes at night because of some iridescent glass I had included within the design. The diameter of this piece is 32''.

Nancy, this is an amazing panel, I love the movement in it and that you utilized scrape glass to produce it. Very creative use of scrape for sure. I don't think it will be in your studio very long, someone will surely fall it love with it, as I did.

Very nice. Some of the nicest pieces I have seen use nothing but clear, textured glass.

I love to look at things that keep the eye moving, water in particular. Is this your pattern or have I seen it before?

lol...I just checked with glass eye and it said 184 pcs. I first saw this idea in a pic and have taken alot of photos of rough water, so the inspiration came from different places. Here is an example of some rough waters at the beach where I live before a storm and one of a peaceful beach early in the morning. I love the shimmers and silvers the water has here.

Just got home and was able to see your night picture -- that is totally amazing...
I don't figure this piece will sit around your studio very long...
Great Job

Nancy, that is absolutely incredible. I'm a clear textured freak and I have to say I don't think I've ever seen anything as stunning as this piece is. How long did it take you to make this piece? Congratulations, I'm just blown away!!

Thanks Anne:) The pattern took me a couple of evenings to play around with in Glass Eye to get the effects I wanted. Plus, I was still learning with that program. The actual cutting and foiling took about 5 good days. It took time to sort through the scrap glass to get as much out of them as I could and go though the other sheet glass to get the texture combos I was looking for. Soldering, patina, waxing and cleaning out all those little crevasses took another day. So probably a week in total. My companion slid out of retirement for a couple of weeks, so I was able to devote steady time with it, with periodical visits with friends on the forum...lol. Then I'd feel refreshed and dive back into it again. It was fun to make, but there were sure alot of narrow pointed pieces in that design. It was a good exercise on how NOT to break those points off:) When I do things for myself, I don't think about the time it takes for me to finish a piece. I enjoy the journey it takes to complete it. If it sells, great, but I do enjoy seeing it at my place. It's a one time attempt for this piece. Right now, it's on display at an Artist's Café for the summer.

This is probably one of my favorite pieces of yours! You know I love the colorful lamps like nobody's business, but this wave is just stunning... it looks like something that can fit into any home's window. Just beautiful! I hope you get to keep it, but I doubt it'll last long at the local cafe!

Thanks Gwen:) I love it when the beaches get rough during a storm up here.
