I tack fused the blossoms to the twig/leaf piece yesturday...lost my centers on this fuse too!  I tried mica hoping I could get it to stick at the lower temp because the hold was a bit long but when I took it out of the kiln this morning the centers wiped right off!  I had to try it!  I think I'll be looking into some paints now!

Me too!  If I get low fire paints I can paint the centers in before slumping this piece.  Kill 2 birds with one stone!

That would work...I slump very slowly so for most pieces I can get a slump at that temp...might just have to hold a bit longer.

Oh darn Becki, sorry to hear the mica powder didn't work, but it still looks really good. Are those rods on the outside or just really precisely cut glass strips? Looking forward to seeing it slumped.

Hi Becki,

Too funny, I'm in the middle of making something similar. A friends daughter is having a baby and this is the cribbing http://www.target.com/MiGi-Blossom-Bedding-Collection/dp/B001P8OPGG/qid=1243098369/ref=br_1_8/184-8833365-5785204?ie=UTF8&node=15762021&frombrowse=1&pricerange=&index=tgt-mf-mv&field-browse=15762021&rank=pmrank&rh=&page=1

So I thought a cool gift would be to make the branch in glass. The only thing I have left to make are the flowers. If you do not mind sharing or suggesting  are yours lampwork or made in the kiln?? I'm unsure how to make them.

Thanks, Theresa!  The flowers, branch and leaves are frit cast in molds from www.colourdeverre.com then tack fused in the kiln onto the base glass.   A piece like this would go great with the bedding!

Very nice, Becki!  Don't know anything about fusing, but I really like this...the design is great and love the yellow background. :)

Becki, I love these flowers. When I was looking for kilns came across the molds for this and thought I would live to make them. They look wonderful and I'm sure the paint will work.

Thanks, guys!  Di, these molds are really fun to work with.  They're really well made and have lots of detail.
