Crisco - GREAT! Everything I ever hang with suction cups fall down - usually in the middle of the night. I've never trusted any glass to suction cups as a couple people gave me small suncatchers on suction cups years ago and they constantly fall. I'll try crisco. I hope it is okay on the suction cup I have on a wooden door.

Thank you, I remember seeing something like that in Cal's fishing kit years ago. A good idea!

Susction cups are not at their best on wood, because it's porous. If it's got a good thick coat of smooth gloss paint, with no cracks in it, maybe for a while, but suction cups are best on gllass or metal.

Graham,

do you fish? instead of regular fishing line I use premade leaders and they seem to hold up pretty good

LA
I do my fihing at the seafood counter at the A.& P., But leaders are much stronger than line.

I like wire because it can be any length I like.

A&P, I thought they went out of business eons ago.  There hasn't been one in our part of the world for over 20 years.
