I have two pics for you here.  2008's version was done by drilling holes in my feeder 'bowl', this year's version was done by firing an indent into the bowl to keep the chain stationary.  I went this route this year because the drill bits I had were just inadequate to the job.  I was trying to get a pic of this years version showing birds using it for you, but when it started to hail today I just gave up and brought it in.  The wings and tail are fired. I had intended to just use silicone to 'attach' them but (one) I was either too impatient on waiting for the silicone to set or (two) I just messed up.  So, after trying the silicone for the second time when it didn't work I had to clean the hummer bodies up then decided ok, I'll just epoxy them and put a coat of silicone on to seal them.  After a day spent cleaning out the silicone, I tried to glue the wings and tail in with epoxy. Of course then I found I could probably have spent another day working on getting all the silicone out first.  It's clear you know!!! So after gluing and letting the epoxy dry about three times then just giving a little tug on them to have them just pop right out of the body they finally set and stayed.  I guess every time they popped out they brought just a bit more of that original silicone out.  Anyhow.............they're finally done.  I would probably have to charge $100 apiece to get my time out of these babies. Oh sure, and someone is going to be willing to pay that --- likely not in my lifetime!!

Anyway, they are cute and I know they'll sell so at least I'll get something out of them - and I thought you'd like to see them! I display them with a little baggie of seed taped to the bottom of the bowl - for those folks that don't know what they're for - and even at that I get people asking, lol.

The 2009 pic isn't very clear - sorry - Cal usually takes my pictures and he's busy today.  He has a much better camera.
