All I can say is WOW.  That is one huge project...I somehow doubt that I'd ever finish it. LOL.  So I guess I won't be starting anything like that real soon..I think more a bowling ball size I might be able to handle. LOL
It sure is pretty though.

I'm too lazy to read the whole thing.  What is the egg made out of, where did it come from and why is it being coevered in mosaics?

WOW!!!  That is beautiful!

I was curious to know why in the world anyone would want a 6 ft mosaic egg.  From what I can tell it looks like it will be mounted on someone's property...one caption said that it had a base that sits in front of the house.  From the looks of it...there will actually be 2 eggs in the end sitting on the bases.  I can't imagine even doing one of these things...let alone 2!  Oh...and the egg itself is made of styrofoam core surrounded by rebar, thinset, and mesh.  Hope that helps! :)

I'm too lazy to read the whole thing.  What is the egg made out of, Styrofoam core, reinforced with rebar, attached to a steel base. The shell is thinset over a fiberglass mesh. where did it come from I don't think she said and why is it being coevered in mosaics? Because she can!

Thank you Meaco and Becki!  It will look good in front of someone's house.  I wonder if their last name is Egg?  Or Ova?  Or...?

I've always wanted to do a large, sculptural piece.  Know anyone that can make an affordable 6' egg??  laugh

hummm... Maybe they can sell them to a town in Alberta - I think it's Vegreville. They're very into the Ukrainian egg decorating thing - I think it may even be their claim to fame.

Thanks for reading thru it and telling us what its made of Meaco and Becki.

In my town we have a giant concrete baseball.  It's at a baseball field and was donated by a man whose last name is "Ball."

For those you following Diane's Egg project, she is working on the holders and the ocean egg.  She has beeing on the project for a year and is expecting to finish next month.
