th_7a52c3c0ce58e0e Annabelle you sure have been busy.  I love your etch work, are you using a sandblasting cabinet or a dremel. And those hand mirrors sooo cool is that a knife for the handle?

Thanks....I use a high speed etching tool....It is powered by compressed air, and is about the size of a ball point pen....lightweight and easy to handle...
I took the hand mirror class at the glass show this year....loved it....already made and sold some since then....Yes...the handle is a table knife...It was interesting to take it through security at the airport in my carry on bag....poor man (actually polite, respectful...just doing his job...) unpacked that bag 3 times until I finally asked if he was looking for a knife...then showed it to him and he and his helper just laughed and apologized for all the incovenience.....

Very nic work Annabelle.  How do you make the connection for the handles stronge enough to hold the weight of the mirrors?  They are really lovely.

Etching.  Hmmmmm..................

Maybe I could start doing that.  I think my wife would kill me if I tried another expansion in the workshop.  She is not quiet over the addition of the torch.

You work looks great.  Keep up the good work and keep showing us pics.

OK....I took Karen Carney's class at the glass expo to learn that you don't "attach the handle" of the knife.....The knife is intact and sandwiched between the mirror and the stained glass back.....They are really fairly heavy, especially if you use beveled mirrors....I guess I could have figured it out  on my own, but the class really was pretty neat.....I am going to have a class to teach how to do it at my local Hobby Lobby.  Once you know the tricks, they are pretty easy to make.
Thanks all for your kind words about my work...Been doing way more etching than stained glass this year...I can do that sitting down, and I think I am getting lazy in my old age....annabelle

Don't feel too bad - you are not the only one - took me several tries as well to find the gallery. Too many glasses of Glass of Wine  that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
