Once you pick a design, if you pick one of mine, I will redo it in a variety of colors for the writing. That's a trivial change. I used the green because it would be easier to separate the writing from the background color with the magic wand - but it could have been any other color.
If you want the crest on one side, and the lettering like a banner, please choose your favorite crest, and a few favorite fonts, and I'll give it a go.
Again if you make a choice from these selections, I'll provide you with a high-definition image that you can use for merchandising. Screen definition is not good enough for printing t-shirts.
It's so exciting!

That's funny! I was thinking "Wow..those would look great on a T-shirt" then as I scrolled down..Audrey, you beat me to it! Great minds.... Actually we wouldn't even have to go through any organization process for those..just make it ok to download the artwork (when you decide which one will be official, and with artist's permission etc) You can get iron on fabric transfers at any large store, and put it on your shirt. sweatshirt, pillowcase..whatever trips your trigger..

Tre V, I was thinking the same thing about the iron on, but the times I've tried it a while back they seemed to fade with washing and just didn't look professional. Maybe they have better techniques now. I don't want to wear one that looks homemade.

But now the background doesn't match the new look! That can be arranged.

Ah! You're back with the first form skin! I personally like it better! More homey and friendly, less techno...

Ya..I was just trying out new things. That skin offered the ability to insert custom html so I thought we could use it to load the chat screen again, though I do not like it being at the top of the screen. This will be the default, though anyone is free to choose one of the many others available. Keep in mind though that is using a theme that is not the default them, when chages are made to the default theme, they will not show up on the others.

You can add code to any theme. For example you can add an image link where it says "powered by Simple machines Forum" in the top right of the page and link it to the full page chat. Using javascipt you can open the window to any size you want. For that matter anywhere on the screen. Word of caution using mods... They may not always work when you upgrade the forum software. Trust me on this one! You are better off inserting code and tweeking the css file as you're backing up constantly.

Thanks for the info Gary. I am a little more familiar with CSS than with html. The firebug thing with firefox is awesome for trying changes before actually changing them. i was wondering about placing the small chat screen at the bottom of the page, where it will be unobtrusive.

You could but you may have more visibility near the top. You would be getting rid of the SMF promotional banner to boot. If you start tweaking the css file could you increase the font size "yellow" a bit? A little hard to read.
