Here is the first of two sidelight panels for my first commission job - they are 8 1/2" w and 72" long - next step is to putty and polish

Yes, there is a hinge down the middle, but since it is being mounted on the flat surface of the wall surrounding the actual side light using modified mirror mounts, I do not think there will be a problem - it is on the North side of the house, no direct sunlight and minimal (if any) contact with anything other than the wall.

You beat me to it Steve. There are hinges at the borders, which were thoroughly discussed (and discounted by some of us) earlier on another board, but there's no hinge in the middle.

that looks great Alan.  What color is the colored glass, it is hard to tell with it laying flat.

Spectrum Deep Violet/ Pale Purple Waterglass, Streaky S4441W - actually bought it at Delphi Glass - their picture of it looks pretty close to what I received. Real easy to use, cuts like a dream.

Here is the first panel, ready to be cleaned up and polished - taking me waaaaay to looooong to get this far, hopefully it's partner won't take as long. I certainly have learned a lot doing the first one, made a couple of mistakes along the way, but hopefully I learned what NOT to do from them.

Oh, that's so pretty Alan, ya gotta love that waterglass!  I love waterglass and look for ways to incorporate it into some of the pieces I've done..Just love it.  So easy to cut and it's so nice to look at!

Nice job on the panel..one down, one more to go!  I'm sure you don't want to be reminded of that..lol
