Thought Id share some pics of the mosaic wall in Bricktown in Oklahoma City. They were done on site by one woman and they are really spectacular.

Really neat but a question, if I may:
Is the mosaic applied directly to the walls, or is it done on the flat in sections, then attached to the wall??

Graham from what I remember the tour guide said the artist Susan Morrison used 158,000 tiles including 32 types of Mexican, 4 types of French tiles all hand rinsed by her and her husband and computer graphics were utilized to create the artwork. I thought he said it was done on site but cant be sure.

wow, that's a lot of tiles. We have a huge retaining wall where the contractor used the big commercial blocks - really ugly. Would love to do a mosaic wall on it but the cost would be so high, sigh......

Di, I have to get to the city (Woonsocket) and take some pictures for you of some old mill walls. They were painted in much the same design of these walls of mosaics When I saw the pictures I thought you had been in RI. LOL.
