My local shop went and bought a huge kiln a few months back and mentioned they would be doing workshops after they've gotten to know the equipment and today I went in and they're hosting new classes!! So I've signed up and it's a one day only class and you get to make 3 items (sm, med and lg) using the molds they have and I can't wait to give it a try!! I was really happy because when I was in a few months ago talking about lead classes they mentioned they didn't work with it so they don't do workshops, kind of a let down but with this it's redemption *lol. I made sure to ask if they have plans to let the students continue using the kiln as an option down the road for a small fee, I don't want to get started with this if I only ever get to make 3 items. So it was a great trip into town today!

that's great Amber. there are getting to be more and more of us fusing folks!  When we had a glass store here they charged $10.00 for a kiln firing.  Just thought I'd share that so you had an idea of what to expect or to measure against. So happy you'll be joining us in fusing!!

I can't wait!! I'm really excited to give fusing a try, anyone have any good sites to recommend?? I'd like to read a bit about it to be a bit more prepared, I've caught a couple videos yestersay on youtube to watch the process. Very cool! It'll be nice to meet other people in town to with a glass hobby!
