I told Kev yesturday that I would look for my pics of copper inclusions.  All I could find was my sample/experiment pieces, Kev, so it will have to do!
They are from top to bottom, copper screen, copper mesh cloth punch out, copper mesh cloth punch negative and a copper sheet dragon that didn't quite flatten out but fused without bubbles!  They all turned a beautiful deep red.
I may have the 2 copper cloth pics backwards.....

is the tree the punch out Becki?  As in like a paper punch?  These are cool. How thick is this copper? Is the dragon on a film similar to the gold decal type things? Neat stuff.

The tree is a heavy duty paper punch!  The negative is what was left over after I punched the tree out.  The dragon is 36 gauge copper tooling foil punched out with another paper punch. I usually take a brayer and really flatten out the copper but I think I missed the dragon!  rolleyes  I'm not sure what gauge the screen and cloth are but they're very thin.

more ??'s do you have two layers of glass happening there with the copper sandwiched in between? Are you using this technique on plates and stuff? You've done mica powder too haven't you? Have you pics of that?

Yup, these are sandwiches...a solid base glass, copper and clear on top.  I thought I had pictures of a couple of plates I did with this technique but I couldn't find them.  sad  I have played with mica...I'm not sure I have pictures but I'll look.

Becki, those are great looking.  I can see that you could do just about anything someone would want with that technique.

Thanks, Joan.  There's so much that can be done in the kiln...and so little time!

Becki, is this copper sheeting I can purchase at a hardware store? I really think this is something I'd like to try.

Hi, Linde.  I get 36 gauge copper tooling foil from the craft store.  It comes in a roll and theres enough to last forever!  If you can't find it look online at Amaco under art and craft supplies.  They have the sheet copper, copper mesh and the screen.  Remember to add a bubble squeeze if you try this!

Thank you, Becki. I will definitely be looking for it on my next trip to the craft store.
