I made the first piece from my new molds.   I used black glass and some dichroic stringers.  I layed the stringers out straight but they went wacko and I like it even better!!

The only question is...if you want 6 plates, will it happen again?  I know nothing about kiln glass, but my guess is..random slumping each time?

It has been my experience with stringers and noodles that if you fire them face up they will move......I'll have to make another one to see!!
Thanks everyone!!

This is so cool!  I would like six of those plates regardless of which way they fired!  It would make them more unique rather than look like they came off an assembly line!  Good job!!

Maybe your schedule is a bit fast?  I fire alot of stringer and they seem to stay put.  At least yours moved in a good direction!  Nice job!

Really nice.  Is it 2 layers of black fused flat and then slumped?

Becki, It's my "usual" full fuse that I used and put a bit of glue stick on them to stay in place because they kept rolling.  Could it be because they are dichroic?? and they weren't exactly flat, more round..........

Your usual full fuse may not work for all applications.  I don't think it had anything to do with being dichro...all stringers are round.  Noodles are flat.  Glue only really works to hold the glass together so you can get it in the kiln.  It burns off before the glass gets hot enough to stick.

The stringers curved during the full fuse?  That Is wierd.  They usualy stay straight during the flat fuse and will curve during the slump.
