I just started the bottle slumping thing. I have been wanting to try it but just had not taken the time between other projects but now I am hooked. The grandchildren even brought me an old bottle they found out in the woods yesterday. I haven't gotten into it enough to try some fun ways to do it but will after the holidays. I have some ideas. It really is fun to me and gets the grandchildren out looking for unusual bottle for me to try. I think they are having more fun than I am.
Here is 3 of the ones I did last week.

I think they are particularly neat because they are not usual bottles. Nice!

I have been slumping some too, and putting high temp wire in the neck so they can hang up on the wall if you want to.

Also have a drill and putting holes in them and then stuffing with a string of Christmas lights.

Lots of fun.  Just havent taken any pics yet.

NO I cant add marbles,,,,a while back Denise lost her marbles, and I sent her all of mine...LOL

Actually I hadnt thought of that, so I will run out today and get some and give it a shot.  I am also going to try some bottle painting after the new year when things settle down a bit.  Here is a you tube link for that.

And here is a link for the paint I will be using.

I am sure there are more paints, but this is just what I ran across last week, and it looked good to me, so I will try this and see how it works....just what I need another dxmn project!!!!!     Smack Smack

I'd send you a picture of my pitrone bottle but I can't seem to figure out how to take a picture of it lit without it coming out all distorted... the marbles really add a nice effect especially with colored lights...

Pretty! Does the cord come out through the neck or has a hold been drilled into the bottle?

Tom,

this is the best I can do... I also bought a wine bottle full of red lights and clear marbles that had Alabama decals on it -- it was cool too...

Kev,

the bottles I've bought have a hole drilled in the back at the bottom and the plug comes out there

Nice!!  I love slumping bottles..  Sometimes you have to do a lot of drinking though.  Here's one that gave me a terrific hangover.

I have my drill press set up in the living room, and drill my own holes in them, I use 1/2 diamond hole drill bit.  Push the lights in the hole and pull them out of the top until all are in there, then I put them back in and "try" to make them as evenly distributed as possible...but its really not possible to be exactly even.  I use the strings that only have the plug on one end, not the kind you can plug in end to end,,,wouldnt work for me.

Tom, I've used Pebeo paints way back before I started working with glass...10 years ago.  This is a good choice for bottles.  One problem I had was if the paint was thick, it would bubble.  But I loved the transparency of the paint.  I had 2 really cool Agavero tequila Liqueur bottles.  I slumped one and hated it but I can see the other one has potential!
