I don't remember when I cut these but I think it was around Christmas because the purple one is a thank you for my cousin who sewed Toni some doll clothes and I think I had the tree already cut at that point... they got buried in a pile of cardboard on the staging table in my work area

I managed to get them both soldered, patinated, and polished this morning before my student came for her second lessons -- I had forgotten how good it feels to be productive!!!

Love them both, but the tree has my vote as fav too. You are one glassing machine lately...

thanks...

I haven't really done much except finish things that have been sitting on the worktable in different stages of completion... I still have a few more to tackle before I cut anything else out...

I rarely do one at a time... usually I'll cut one and only get it partially ground before I have to stop with sore fingers so I'll go ahead and cut something else go back to the first grounding and then it usually makes sense to wait and finish the second before I turn on the soldering iron so that usually ends up with a third getting cut before the second is ground and on the cycle goes....

I thought you would get a chuckle out of that but it's the truth about how I work -- the only time I concentrate on 1 project from start to finish is one that is a special order that I have all the glass on hand for...

Thanks Darryl and Gwen...

Gwen -- both patterns are from a book called "The Book of Fans"

http://www.glasscrafters.biz/Merchant2/order_form.mv?Product_Code=7080&Category_Code=

If you are looking for a fan book, I highly recommend this one, they are all very easy...

Thank you for the info and link, Lou Ann!
I've never made a fan lamp before. There's a lot that I still haven't tried! I had been playing with stained glass for a little over a year before I even attempted anything 3D (candle holders). Fan lamps seem like a good way to keep making foiled projects when you and your family have run out of windows!

they also make great gifts... I've given them as wedding gifts, thank you's, birthdays... whatever; my first real customer bought 12 or 13 of them to give as Christmas gifts and for awhile we were selling one per month at the shop in ME but I have yet to sell one at any of the fairs I've done
