Other than the front piece with the holly, I have no idea how to put this free pattern together http://stainedglass.on.ca/Christmas%20Lantern.htm .  I didn't see a photo of a finished product anywhere.  Any suggestions?

Edge of 22 attached to 14.  Assuming that the first part is the base.

That would be my take on it as well, but just joining the 2 pieces at a right angle would not offer much support for the upright piece. You might want to cut 2 right angle triangles to fit in the back  on the sides and attach to the bottom for added support.

It says it's a Lantern,  Duck  ..........so that would be 4x each pce. and I would set a ring in the pointy bit at the top!

Right you are! I didn't see the title of it. The angled piece is one side of the 4 sided sloped top. and the holly design piece is one side of the 4 sided box.

This is my take on the design:  The cap is bigger than the box and will sit on top of the box with the 4 corners of the cap overhanging like a roof so you wouldn't be able to use it as an electrical lantern because you'd only be able to attach the roof to the box where the roof touches the four corners of the box (not sturdy enough to hang)  Otherwise, you would need to resize the cap to fit exactly on the base and then you would be able to solder it all around.
If I were to make it, I would make it as a candle shelter with the bottom closed like a box and the "roof" as a removable top.  Still not sure that there would be enough open air space for a candle.  Maybe write to the author of the pattern?   Maybe there's a metal frame with a door hinge that the glass pieces fit into?  Or maybe I'm just confused.

Sue try the link below and look at number 6. I believe this is the same type of lantern.

Wow, you have it! That photo helps tremendously.  I never would have gotten it from the pattern alone.
