Pricey yes!  BUT I think you would make your money back real easy with this mold if you are working shows.  In my case it will pay for itself in another way.

I haven't seen a new mold in a long time I liked as much as this one.  This one will be in my collection by next month, and you can guess what everyone in my family is going to get for Christmas this year!  That alone will pay for itself in my mind, as I am sure to get a few extra Christmas cookies and other goodies to take home after the family meals!!!!  (not that I need them, but I do WANT them, LOL)  Just think of the possibilities > fall colors for the Thanksgiving meal = extra turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, etc,,,,, to take home...and then traditional holiday colors at Christmas.....need I say more!  Dang I am making myself hungry already!

 I want

I agree, Tom.  All of my Colour de Verre molds have paid for themselves...some of them over and over again.

I love the idea of it...the only thing I don't like about it is the large gap at the back of the leaf. I know it follows it's true form, but I just think it reduces that functionality of the design if you want to use it as a stand alone piece.

I know that well enough from other things I have made, but it would be nice to have that option.

Many of you do traditional stained glass.  Some of it has a function...lamp shades, trinket boxes, etc....and some is in the form of panels to hang in your windows, something beautiful to look at and enjoy. Isn’t the beauty and the enjoyment it’s function?  I agree that as a bowl the functionality of this mold may be limited when using a single leaf but not altogether “un-functional”. Look at my coral bowls.  They are totally not usable for some things (you certainly wouldn’t want to try soup in them!) but perfect for other things. And you do have the option of combining 2 or 3 leaves and making a bowl that is both beautiful and functional or leaving it un-slumped and having a lovely wall panel where just the enjoyment of looking at it would be it’s function.  It’s all good!

I agree completely. When I looked at the mold, my first thought was as a serving piece, but I can certainly see other functions for it, whether as an artistic piece or used in combination with other elements to create something unique.

It is a beautiful design and I do love the natural feel to it. I just know you'll make this design pop like you do with all your creations.

lol!  I’ll mention that to Larry the next time we speak!  No, I’m not directly affiliated with CDV but when I find a company that produces a product that I really like and enjoy using I like to share.  Just think of me as an unofficial spokesperson!

Just wanted you to see my first Aralia leaf done in ambers with a light sifting of red and black powder. Unfortunately there's a bit too much overhang to slump it in my bowl mold so that has to wait awhile.
