Warner stained glass must be happy with me today.  I just ordered my huge holiday 3-d star order and some other bevels.

Hope hubby is not home when the order comes in LOL, cause I will surely get  stick, to which I will have to respond with  Prod to remind him how much I sell at the shows and if that doesn't work I can always resort to  .

glad I could give a little chuckle, Kev.

Wow, been soldering for the first time in I can't remember when.  I have gotten so weak from the MS that holding the soldering iron is gonna take a bit of time to get used to again.  Can't believe that it could make my shoulders and arm ache so quickly.  But at least these will be enjoyably earned aches.

Looks like there are quite a few of us getting back into cutting and grinding. Its been a long hot summer and the cool weather today is making it easy for me to get back in the hole. I have started making angel, snowmen and some fall leaves for the upcoming shows. A special piece for a baby shower is also in the works that needs to be finished by the weekend. Nothing like last minute!!!

Great to see your back enjoying breaking glass Joan!

Well here is the first of many items that will be being added to my holiday items for this year.

I love making these beveled 3-d stars and they don't last more than 3 minutes to sell out at the shows.  This one is 6 7/8's x 5 1/8th.  I ordered several of the
3 &1/2" ones in different colors and clear, so I could keep the price down a lilttle bit.

Di, after you tin all the pieces, and you start laying out the 1st layer (the top and bottom, being the 2 longest piece and the left and right being 2 of the remaining pieces), make sure the points are just touching.  Put a bead on the inside and outside parts of the square that the pieces form

Take a piece of paper and fold it in half open it an fold it in the opposite direction again in half.  Open it out and lay it flat and draw a sideways "T" on the paper on the creases

Use the  line to line up one of the pieces, touching the line at the bottom of the "T" and at the corner where the 2 lines cross.  Take the second piece and place it to the right of the top point of the first piece and touching other line, this should form an upside down and backwards L.  Tape them down if you have to, and tack the points together.

Now you are ready to attach it to the first layer, you do that kitty corner, making sure that it is straight up and down, tack solder the points to the corners of your first layer.

You will then attach the other two pieces (one at a time) touching both the bottom layer and the top of the 2 piece one you just tack soldered to the bottom layer.  Oh, Di, make sure you have these next 2 pieces facing the same direction as the 2 piece one you put on so that you don't some going face up and some face down,

Hope this makes sense to you.  LOL  Trying to do a step by step is like writting a how to tie your shoes instruction book LOL.  I say that cause we had to do that for a creative writting exam once.
If you have any questions when you are working on the star, just give me a call I'll walk you through it

I love the star, JF.  Glad you are backing glassing.
I have been very lazy this last year and am about to start to get back to it myself.
