Hi Sue in NC,  Welcome

On behalf of the AOG team, we would like to extend a warm welcome and we are glad you decided to join our forum. If you need any assistance, please feel free to ask any member, we are more than happy to assist you.

To ensure our membership roster is up to date with active members, and as per the membership agreement, please be aware that inactive members that have been absent from the forum for 180 days will automatically have their membership removed.

Out of curiosity, how did you hear of us and ultimately find us and could you please let us know what type or types of glass (Cold/Warm/Hot) you enjoy doing?

One thing more - the only stupid question is the one that does not get asked.

Enjoy!

Hi, Sue!  Where in NC are you?  I'm in eastern Tennessee, close to western NC.

Thank you for all the warm welcomes. It made my day!

I live in Charlotte, NC, and am a beginner in stained glass. I love everything about glass art and want to grow my skills as rapidly as possible.

I have finished a few copper foil projects and have others under way. When I get a little better, I will try lead came. I have done one glass fusing project but do not currently have access to a kiln. I also found an artist only a few miles from me who specializes in glass on glass mosaics and I hope to get a session with her soon.  I also want to get into glass painting. I do some acrylic painting on canvas and watercolor on paper

I found this group when I was browsing the WWW, gathering knowledge and working on a design.  I am glad I did.

Great to meet you!  How long have you lived in Charlotte?  I lived there for three years and have cousins there now.

I've lived in Charlotte over 15 years, on the northeast side of the city limits, almost in the next town.  Most of those years, I did a lot of travelling and wasn't able to pursue my interests all that much. It is great to finally be able to do things I really enjoy!

I lived on the eastern side of Charlotte, but it was MANY years ago.  One of my cousins lives in Matthews, so that's opposite from you.  I'm not sure where my other cousin lives.  I guess that's what happens when you get old.  I have many fond memories of Charlotte.  Most of the rest of my childhood was spent in Greenville, South Carolina.  That's closer to you than I am now, but we aren't THAT far apart.

Welcome, Sue!

So do mine, and my sisters.  My mother was born in Greenville, and my sisters.
