I had hakko and weller and I like weller better but it took some getting used to from the weller because of it's feeling different ... I guess it is balanced differently, felt to heavy in spots... got 2 hakko was very lucky went to a moving sale got the extra hakko (practically brand new), soldering stand, 2 toyo cutters, some patterns and a tool box for 25 dollars... thought it was a real good deal

Made a decision and ordered a Hakko 556SEtemptrol iron due to outstanding reviews. Because of the difficulty in finding gifts, My wife will give it me on Christmas. We have decided to buy craft oriented gifts for each other, something we CAN use and not have to stand in a return line with after the holidays.
