I made something other than a kaleidoscope.  This angel is in a pattern book I bought some time ago, I used to make a bunch of them.  This one is for one of the singers in a great quartet here.  He and his wife are proud parents of a new baby girl born on July 14th.  His wife has red hair and likes yellow clothing which is the reason for the color choices.  I have always thought this is a cute and easy pattern.

The book is "On Angels Wings" by Alee Soderman Zurcher

Beth,  The nose and eyes are etched with a dremel tool then I fill the etching with Pebeo's Vitrea 160.  I let it dry 24 hours and bake it 40 minutes @ 325 degrees F.  I tapered a brass rod like a toothpick and with that I can pick up small amounts of paint to fill the narrow line of the nose.

Thank you (inquiring minds need to know!)   I also use my dremel to etch details,  but Pebeo is no longer available here so I use the Humbrol enamel paint used by model builders. Unless the item is repeatedly washed  - it seems to last pretty well. The tapered brass rod is a great idea!  I literally use a toothpick!
Learned something new today!

Beth,

I used to use toothpicks but the point on the brass rod doesn't break off.
