I have a friend who loves glass - but is also very specific in what she wants.   Some years ago I made her a 'wire fish' similar to the one pictured below.  The glass pieces were window glass painted with unique paints and fired in the kiln,  as she wanted the 'bubble' effect.   The following year she got a seahorse,  after which she was adamant she wanted a crab to to complete the set......No matter which way I looked at it, I could not cut those tiny pieces and fire them before assembly - so she has had to have it made in normal spectrum - and still it was a chore to cut and assemble.   I was terrified that it would get knocked down before I got to soldering,  as the bits were just too small to number!   Anyway,  she was happy with it even though it does'nt match the other two.   Definitely one of those 'one off' pieces!

The crab's got me thinkin' of The Middleton Tavern in Annapolis Md.
Oyster Shooters for an appetizer and soft shelled crab for the main course.
Oh, how I miss my annual trip to the Chesapeake

Thank you for all the nice comments, folks!   I tend to get bored easily,  so like to try different things....  Some things,  like the fish become part of my more or less regular stock, others , like the crab are definitely one off's!
omg, Graham,  you have me drooling on my keyboard (and NO,  that's not just because of my age!!!)   Can't even remember when last I had oysters, let alone  crab......

I have never seen anything like these pieces, they are very wonderful!  I love the pain on the glass and can't imagine how you visualize a piece like this!  You have some very cool ideas  in your imagination!!
