Good question Marsha.
I've never made anything with a divider in it. I wonder if the glass will stretch over the divider, or pull in on the length of the blank....inquiring minds want to know....?????????

There was a discussion about moulds a couple of months ago that included this mould. Is there a way to search old posts?

At the top of every page, just below the Forum Banner is a search box - it will search both subject/topic and body for the words entered - not the best in the world, but it should help you find what you are looking for. Hope this helps.

Hard to tell what happened without more information. Set up? Schedule? Picture?

Ok...here is the photo and the schedule. I use this schedule for most all full fuses and it has always worked great for me. This bubble had the thinnest cap over it that crumbled when I touched it.

If I may comment on your schedule, you have a 10 min soak at 537C which does not seem to me to do anything. You then slow the rate of advance to 592C with no soak. I do not understand the purpose of this. You have no bubble squeeze - which would be in the region of 600C - 677C. You spend a lot of time at your top temperature of 804C - I try to get my work done with no more than 10 min at top temp, except for casting and kiln carving.
But I don't think the schedule is the problem - or at least not the whole problem. The bubble has come from beneath the glass. This usually indicates a shallow spot on the shelf, or something between the glass and the shelf. Air could not get out from under the glass for some reason, possibly because there was a fast heat up from below the softening point of the glass.
I don't know what glass you are using, but a check of the Bullseye site, education section will give you general information in the "Heat and Glass" tech note and more specific information in the project notes; or the Spectrum S96 site gives their recommended schedules and a comment on bubble squeezes.
