I've been on a clear texture glass kick for a while now and the clear scrap bin kept catching my eye. This is what came out of the bin in the last couple of days. Now I should have been spending my time filling in those holes in my inventory for the fall shows..........what can I say. There's always tomorrow right?

if you are on such a clear textured kick, I'll send you the dimensions of the windows I need for my guest room and you can whip them out for me :-)

What a great project to use up all those scraps. It sure doesn't look like "scrap" anymore! You did a great job, it is sooooooo pretty!

Ja! Definitely leave the word 'scrap' out of your description! Sure that will earn it's time at your next show! Very nice! And as they say, "a little of what you fancy does you good'!!

Suddenly I wish I was at home instead of in FL. I want to see what is hanging out in my scrap bin. :>
What a lovely piece!

Thanks everyone. I had fun making this one.
@ LouAnn - I wish you lived closer too - I still have a ton of scrap in those boxes, and you'd be having a couple of panels coming your way!. We'll see if it does sell at one of the shows - not holding my breath as folks up here only want to buy things that cost less than $40 overall.
And as to how it was 'thought out' - this will give you a chuckle - I drew the outer size on the graph paper, put the box of scrap beside me and as I pulled pieces out I drew a square or rectangle to fit whatever size the glass was and adjusted as I went. As I was going I gave a passing thought as to whether I should add some color to it but decided to leave it in clears. I spose I should pull out come of the colored boxes and maybe make a few of these in different shades of the colors I have. A thought anyway. I think now I'd better move on to making those other small things I need for the shows. Time to play after I've gotten my real job done eh?
Maybe we should start a 'scrap panel' thread, lol.

An attractive well designed (though some may think it's random) stable piece. Why would it, and more like it, fill the holes in your inventory.

By well thought out I meant you really did a good job of avoiding hinge lines, as well as the choices and placement of different textures.

I wish you were closer... with my schedule these days I'd be commissioning you to make two just as "random" as this, each about 30" x 30"
I am going to steal your idea of tracing each piece as you picked it... that would certainly help when I make scrap stepping stones.

Hi Anne, That is just perfect. I love how you used the clear textures, mixing them up and throwing in the bevels. There is so much you can do, with clear textures, and I have always felt that they look so clean and uncluttered and classy. If it does not go in one of your shows, I am sure it would look great hanging in one of your windows. I can't wait until I have a chance to pick up my new clear textured glass. Karen

Yup Karen, and once you get all your clears I'll be expecting to see something like this in your window too! And you're coming out when? :)

I am on holiday for the next 2 weeks; need to go to Manitoba and visit family; my Dad is not well, and John's Mom is not well. Not sure how long we will be....maybe a quick visit July 20th or 21st.....? Will have to see how it goes. Are you around?
