Here is a pic of the latest sushi bowl I made. I have been happy with this mold as it is soooo easy to do. The bowl measures about 9" by 5" and is just the right size to use for candles, candies or sushi. It is a clear base with light purple, black and lime green scrap piecies. Fired flat to full fuse then fired again into mold.

So "pops" means contrast?

Yeppers....to "pop" or "it pops" means it stands out.

Nice piece. I too like the contrasts and like the contemporary feel to it.

Funny to hear someone else use pop like that. In the our print shop you hear that a lot about ink on paper.

Very nice looking bowl, I'd like to get into this kind of work....but I have a few too many projects going ha

Thanks all. I am really happy now that I have just about got this kiln thing worked out. This mold seems to be an easy one and so far I have had wonderful results with it. I did another one that I liked better and actually sold one to a friend that saw it. Here is a pic of it.

I am finding that the kiln work is a lot of fun. Never thought that I would branch out into that area. Now I am really glad that I did.

I only do this as a hobby but my kids can think up more stuff they want than I have time to do. I have already gotten 2 orders for stained glass panels and now they love my bowls. Guess I know what I am going to be doing for a while.
My husband joked about trying to sell something for once to pay for supplies I am using.

Thanks for the nice comments.

I really liked the color combo of the second pic and it was from some scraps I had found and wanted to try my new mold before  thinking up colors I wanted. Scraps can sometimes be the best one.

Yes, Evelyn I just got back home from a trip and there was 3 boxes that had been delivered while I was gone. All my husband said was did they deliver all of it yet? I have some more color combos I want to try out soon.
I like the stir fry idea but Kim no sushi for me.
