I rescued these plates from Yvonne and loved the pattern. I decided to use the larger plate to make a panel. I have always said I am not a pattern maker but decided to try something I seen (in a nightmare I think). I will never use nuggets again. I used so much solder and really made the design as I went along. Not that pretty in the picture but in the window it really looks good. The weather here has been so dreary that I havent been able to get a good picture. The panel measures 21" sq.

I can make out enough of it in that light to tell it is lovely anyway. Very nice plate, too.

I bet it just sparkles Di. I love purple, and who does not like a cluster of grapes.

You did great incorporating the plate into this panel.  It looks very nice and I admire you for going with your own design.  Sorry you did not care for working with nuggets, but it turned out great!

Nuggets are definitely not my strong point, and so I admire your courage.  I love the way plates look in the light!

Yup using nuggets like that always uses a up a lot of solder.  What is the clear textured glass Di?

you did a great job snugging the nuggets up to each other.  The grapes looks wonderful De.  The over all panel is pleasing to the eye as well

That's right, wait 'til I'm far enough away to trash me!
I've been coveting opal in Lightning Ridge today, cutting and polishing follows the natural form of the stone and the results are spectacular.

Aww Yvonne I would never trash you... Opal! I love opal, post a picture.

Thanks for all kind words we are our worst critic and I'm bad with that. I guess I have to let up a bit because everyone seems to love it here. But dont ask me to make another...lol
Anne the textured glass as I remember is called clear Polka Dot architectural, I have had it for a while and not sure where I got it.

I like it Di.  The weather has been horrible since I returned and haven;t seen the sun in a week except for maybe an hour.  Sure did a nice pattern for this one.

Like all glass, Opal is difficult to photograph, wander about here.

Awesome job Di!  I've got a couple of Y's plates too and will get to designing them, right after I design for the one that Mal, Nancy and Cindy have been working on.  I'm really late getting around to this.

I really like what you did with yours, they are really pretty plates!

Hey, Y, I love opals too,and I believe that they are my mothers birthstone, so you KNOW she likes them.  Would love to see pics when you get a chance.
