Been futzing around with this one since late March, finally got it done. The frame is from one of those el cheapo wall clocks that run on a battery, the clockwork quit working so I recycled the frame.

nice panel, and yes a great idea for the frame. I have one of those old frames with a mirror in it. Time to rethink that obviously! Thanks for the idea Alan.

Looks great, I like the dark stain of the wood frame, with your glass choices.

Thanks everyone. It was sorta fun to make, especially the border - silly me, I thinking that it was a true oval - I made the pattern accordingly - and yep - did not fit the opening - took a bit of time with the whittling knife and Dremel tool to get the frame to match the glass. MAYBE NEXT TIME I'LL REMEMBER TO ACCURATELY MEASURE THE OBJECT INTO WHICH THE GLASS IS GOING @Joan - dunno - saw the frame, saw the glass and decided to put the two together.

Great idea and use of a frame and the panel is beautiful. I had a problem with a beveled frame that was supposed to be 22 inches - but I put the frame together first, then traced the inside onto the pattern and everything fit perfectly.

Nice job Allen, the dark wood frame with the light transparent glass makes a sparkling combination that compliments one another. I really like the plum color glass as well!
