Third time lucky - I hope! I keep getting told that the connection has timed out before my post can be downloaded. Anyway! The final spiderweb (for now) is in a second size whirl i.e. about 7.5". I've taken the second one at a strange angle to try and 'see' inside better - I promise it is'nt really that 'skew'!!

Yay! it worked this time! So while I'm on a roll, here are 2 small whirls - i.e. about 4.5". I think I'm pretty much 'bugged out' now!

beautiful work. While the spider web is skillfully done, it gives me the creaps just thinking about spiders LOL

!!! I would never be able to finish something like that without hurling it against the wall at least once... very beautiful and you definitely have a knack for them

Wow! That's pretty amazing. I have never tackled a whirl, but am impressed by those who make them.

Thanks for all the kind comments, but making whirls is not so much a great skill as delicate work and the desire to create little enclosed worlds! (Not wanting to know what a shrink would make of that one!!). Anyone can do it if they really want to, - but not every one wants to - which is how it should be! Small is my thing!, although I can certainly admire a beautiful big work - I would never aspire to creating one. JaneB - I make the dragonfly bodies much like the butterfly's I explained earlier - pictures pending! I need visuals to explain!
Joan - believe me these glass ones are the ONLY spiders that don't scare the beejaysus out of me - and I see a lot where we live!!
