I started this one a while back, and just got it finished today.  Well, sort of.... I still need to make a frame for it.  I have one more that I want to do that is a Swallowtail, but still have to get the glass before I can get to it.

OH!!! How beautiful that is. Looking forward to seeing the swallowtail. That looks great. What kind of frame were you thinking about for it?

Thanks  Thank you all for your comments.  I am pretty happy with the way he turned out.  The frames I make are stained oak, but this time it will be a black frame.

I like your butterfly!  Love the glass you used as the outside edge of his wings!  Beautiful.  I agree with Becki, and nice black frame would be perfect.

Memaribeth, yes I drew the pattern from a picture of a monarch butterfly.  I drew the pattern with one side a monarch and the other side the swallowtail, which I hope to get to as soon as I can get my way down to the bay area to get some yellow glass.  I may not be able to get there til June though.. :-(

Everyone already said what I was thinking, but after you work so hard and create such a beautiful piece, you really don't get tired of other appreciation of the hard work you did, do you?

LOVE IT!!!!
