Did this quick piece a couple of days ago for a school auction. An old plate is used for the center with diamond bevels on each side. I surrounded it with light green, clear, and light amber glass gems. Loved doing this one since no cutting was involved!! :) Although I must say...soldering those gems was a pain.

Just curious... is it a flattened plate? If not do you put the bulge in the back or the front of the panel?

Thanks so much for the nice comments! :) Just curious... is it a flattened plate? If not do you put the bulge in the back or the front of the panel?
It's just a regular plate. I put these into a lot of my panels...very easy to do...I always put the bulge in the front. My favorite is to add Morisco glass around the clear plates...the Morisco compliments the plate very nicely. They sell really well at shows...something different. :)

Nice Meaco! I really like it, lol..it's fun to have a project or two you don't have to cut and grind once in awhile!
I'm sure people are going to be drawn to this!

The panel is great! I picked up a red and clear glass plate and wanted to do something with it, your piece is a great inspiration to get it off the work bench shelf and do something with it. Just one question..... what is "Morisco" glass?
I don't think I have heard of that before.

Morisco is the blue and clear glass in this panel. The textured pattern compliments the plates very well :)

Very pretty!!! I have seen that glass and have some in clear but never in blue, I'll have to check it out at the glass store.

Really like the blue one. I did one with a red saucer I found at goodwill and it was the first thing I sold. Also like the clears.

I tried to google who carries it but only found clear. Do you get it local or online?

I have all three colors, but I found it locally..at Maine Art Glass in Lisbon. But I'm sure I've seen it online as well, I just can't think of where. Rainbow has it, but it's a wholesaler..they might have records of who has purchased it from them though. http://www.rainbowartglass.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=4969I'm not sure how much I have left, but I'd be willing to send you some, let me know how much you'd like and I'll check to see how much I have left.
