I had the blank for this for a while.  I put it in the kiln yesterday and figured out when I should start to watch it drop......but them this crappy cold really kicked in and I didn't care if it when all over.  So you can imagine my surprise when I got it out today and it looked great!!  It does need a fire polish on the top.   Thanks for looking......

Turned out great Marsha.

Shouldn't the top already be smooth?

It's a little "grainy".

Thanks everyone!!
Kev, I put it back on the square mold and have it in now.  I'll post photo when it's done.   I need to go to the second hand stores and find some new wrought iron holders!

Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.

I wish I'd caught this sooner, Marsha.  Fire polishing is never a good idea after the glass has been slumped or draped unless you watch it extremely closely and can stop the process before it goes too far. Think about the temps it takes to slump or drape and the temps it takes to fire polish and it might help you understand why. Fire polishing is just better done before the slump.

It's all a learning experience. We learn as much from mistakes as we do from successes.
