We have a few "fruit" wineries around here. Back when I was a kid, there was almost no grapes here, it was all orchards. One of the locals is making cranberry wine - really good - especially with turkey!!
OOOOH! Nice! Congratulations on your first , very successful commission. Fennel wine? Like wine and like fennel ......but can't quite imagine the amalgamation!
Oh cranberry wine sounds wonderful! And yes, I'm not a licorice type person, but the fennel was very good...dry and lightly flavored. They boiled the greens and bulbs, then pressed them.

You did a good thing, wine after installation or it would have been tipsy! Really nice first commission and I can't wait to see the ones for your house.

Isn't fennel one of those Licorice-ish flavored spices???

Yep, I'm thinking fennel wine would taste like wine that has had some black jelly beans dissolved in it. The more I think about it, the more I want to try it.

It was good, and I'm not a licorice fan. Dry but light.

Ditto!! Also Cranberry wine!
D'ya think if I mix some fennel tea with cane spirit or Vodka it'll work?

Yummmy...Grandfather made Elderberry, Dandelion, Blackcurrent, Redcurrent, Blackberry and more. I was far too young to drink but seldom fail to imbibe when the opportunity presents. Am particularly partial to Kiwi and Guava, the Aussies make a good Blackberry cordial, great over ice cream! My other post went away with the lousy internet connection I suffer down here, like it's gone out as I type! The transom is lovely, sans grape is perfect to represent an assortment of wines.

Dandelion wine is great. Being as my part of WI is home to a good majority of the cranberry bogs (worked on one for awhile) cranberry wine is pretty popular here.
