Although most people seem to dislike spiders - my spider webs seem to be constantly sale-able, and my motto is not to argue with the buying public! The butterfly mobiles evolved from a desire to use up the little 'triangles' left when I cut a big whirl.

WOW!! you have a lot of patience...
talk about cute and unique... I can see why the spiders sell, they are beautiful (even though I have a very strong hatred of anything creepy crawly)
the use of triangles for the butterflies is a really good idea... I recently did the spectrum pattern for the tumbling butterflies and although I used scrap, the use of triangles would have worked too

Wow, very creative! The spiders and webs are great, and I love the way you made the calyx of the flower bud on the candle shelter. Will you please explain?

cool work Beth, as always you have such great ideas and execution. I"m not surprised these sell really well, they're very well presented and even tho most people hate spiders they'd like these.

Love them! The spiders are beautiful.
I turn the leftovers from the whirls the other direction and just call them ornaments. Sometimes I put six together, sometimes eight. And sometimes I add other, similar shaped leftovers of different colors and sizes.

Mary, I cut the calex's out of copper sheet, then 'work' them into shape using an old brass pewter ball tool -though anything with a firm ball /rounded end will do, (if you've ever done pewter work this will make more sense) to curl up the ends and plump them out over the top or the flower/bud. Solder in place, add the wire stem and blob for seed. This does'nt sound too coherent to me - so if you want visuals, I'll try to take pics this weekend!?! Thanks for all the nice comments - like most of my 'stock items' these have grown and been perfected over the years. Rebecca, I think I may have tried the 'triangle ' decor thingies too - but find that neither those nor the mini glass balls from the centre semi-circles sell well her! Dratted buying public..!!

I am with everyone else-I really love those spiders. I don't care for them at all in real life...but yours wouldn't bother me at all!
