Remember I did the trial pattern bar with the amber, cream, and black? Well I had 8 pieces that I had cut with an angled side on one side, thinking I'd use them to make a footed project. I put them in the kiln yesterday with a few more pieces for a fire polish. I took the temp to 1350  and held for 5 mins. instead of my typical 1325 degrees.

As you can see, they squished down and spread a bit...I could not be more delighted in the result! They ended up with an angled top (or bottom depending on how they are used) which will work perfectly to attach to the bottom of a  curved piece.

I suspect because of the height and volume of these pieces that that is why they squished at that temp.

Some surprises are wonderful! LOVE IT!!!!!!

Don't you just love good surprises?  These are very cool and funky!  Now you need a funky piece to put them on. ;)

No, I will use them as feet for another piece. They are only about 1.25" square.

They do look good enough to eat!  They look just like candy..I'd be tempted to put them on a plate on the coffee table and see who gets fooled. LOL
