This is a pattern I have been wanting to do for a while and thought it would be a good one to do in lead. I may have many questions as I go and will need all the help I can get. Its 16 x 24

Ohhhh, I do too Di.  Looking forward to watching this come together.  Have you decided on the glass?

This looks like a piece that would look best done in lead (I'm assuming... I haven't tried lead, yet)!

But watch out for the borders, looks like it will have hinges along both sides and at the top and bottom.

Thanks everyone. I cant wait to start. Hopefully I'll be able to some time next week. It is not an original pattern and I'm thinking of doing it in blues my favorite color.

Well  here is my first attempt. So after getting the panel square it seems to be going ok.  Getting used to using the dykes was a little tricky. Heres what I did today.

Lookin good Di, and now that you've started I bet you'll find it goes really quickly!  Yes, I hear you about the dykes, I kept forgetting and turning them the wrong way - had lots of pieces to use in other spots till I got it through my head! Lots of senior moments!!

Looks great, Diane. You may not run into the problems I am having since you don't have any curves to deal with.

Ok this is where Im at. I think Im am getting the hang of it, but, I am not I like the way the small bevel is looking. Is this correct or is there a better way. I tried going by the tutorial (Im using the same one as Audrey) but my piece is so different I couldnt figure it out. Any suggestions

Yup! It looks a tad ratty - but it's your first go around. Leads should flow from one to another more smoothly, and corners should be sharp.I don't do a lot of lead, so my advice may not be good practice, so I'm gonna back off and leave it to an expert.

I know what I'd do - but that may be wrong (though it will work), so I hesitate to give details. That doesn't stop me from judging though grin

Di - the diamond bevel needs some changes as you'll have a devil of a time soldering it.  Go to www.freepatternsfor stainedglass.com/lead-came.html.  She gives two options for leading diamonds. There are also other how to's in that site that you might find useful.  Audrey - you might too!
