So this is what I am working on right now. The pattern is from Linda MacArthur, she has made this before and it's also posted on her site. I just love it. I have changed it up by adding this border.

What a bear to do in lead but I know I'll love it in the end and so will the person getting it lol. This might be a hard one to part with but I know it will be in good hands.

I am also almost finished with a cabinet door, just have to put it in the wood. Then another cabinet door is waiting on my table to lead and Kev's Spring pattern is staring me in the face. I love having so many things going at once but man my room is messy lol.

To use a pun, very striking!
If messy means progress, keep it that way.

Looking good Mal!

I'm sure you'll have your spring panel done before me.

Kev, I would have wrapped the oval parts of the notes in Malinda's pattern here completely with one piece of lead instead of running the lines of the staff through them.  That is the way that makes sense to me.  Malinda, I don't mean that the way you did it is wrong; I am just trying to answer Kev's question about leading.

Rebecca I do keep looking at those parts and wondering about changing them over to how you mentioned. Part of me thinks once the joints are soldered it's not going to stand out like a sore thumb like maybe it does now? It still is on my mind and maybe I'll change it and have a look from afar and see which way I like it better?

Today I had to go get a couple more pieces of glass because I ended up extending the pattern a bit more to the left so I needed more rain drop and white waterglass. I also ended up changing a couple of the red border pieces to compensate for the whole panel being longer.

Possibly going to go down tonight and work on it some more?

Oh, noo!  I had just typed in a long message and Kev changed my name right before I hit "post!"  Malinda, I don't have internet at home anymore, so I wasn't ignoring you, I just got here.

I keep looking at your picture and I don't know how to answer you.  I don't know if I would go back and change what is already done, but I would definitely wrap the oval parts of the notes in one piece of lead instead of having the lines break them up.  I would even have wrapped the note at the bottom border in one piece and made the lead along the border in two pieces.  When you do lead in the future, try to figure out what makes sense.  You want an object to have integrity - you don't want to break up an object's edges.  I'm I making any sense?  I don't know exactly how to explain it.

No worries Rebecca and I totally unsterstand what you are explaining. I was just looking at the picture and trying to make the major lead line be the part that stood out the most. To me and IDK why, the paper stands out more but the more I think about it the notes are technically atop the paper so yeah, I can see those as being in one piece instead.

Well a good thing is the person who is receiving this loves it as is. I also have faith that when the ends are joined it will look more proper so to speak?

Well my name is about to change here too so, lets see if this will post as me or ??? mystery me lol.
