I like projects that I can finish in a weekend.  While I work on a project sure to take a longer time, I will do something quick for a little immediate gratification.  Then I can get back to the other project with new patience.  Do any of you do the same?  Seems I always have two projects in the works.

Here are a few weekend projects I made

Nice pieces glasisfun.  It's nice to see some pieces with bevels again, I forget how beautiful they are. I still have boxes of them that I have not used...maybe I'll do something with some in it. I have not done a weekend project piece, but it sounds like a great idea, especially if your working on a larger detailed piece.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing!   It's always fun to see what everyone does.   Love the candle shelter lamp, it's very effective.    Was it a 'bought' lamp that you set the ' silhouette ' in?   Are the silhouettes etched?
As to your question - 90% of my stuff is so small that I do several in a weekend...lol!

Very nice. That is a good idea. I usually only have one thing going at a time, and when I get frustrated with it I seem to do no glass for a while. I should try your idea.

That Victorian-looking one must have been a long weekend.  NICE!

Very nice panels and I really like your lantern too!  And yes, I can relate to having more than one thing on the go as well, most of what I do is small too as that seems to be what sells best where I am. I tend to do a lot of multiples of the small stuff so I have stock for numerous shows.  I've found doing multiples like a production line really cuts down on the time for me so it's much more cost effective.

Are you selling your work?

everyone for all the compliments!  The lanterns were store bought, spray painted white and the clear glass replaced with navy blue English Muffle on three sides and one side of blue and yellow opalescent glass(which I thought looked like the bride and groom standing in front of a setting sun when the candle is lit) were for my daughters wedding this past summer.  She had an outside garden wedding and they were lighting the way down the isle for the bride and groom.  I made several, they were then moved to the reception and used on table tops around the room.  I had to grab one as everyone wanted to take one home after the reception.

The bride and groom were traced onto a sheet of copper foil, then cut out with an exacto knife and then glued to the glass on the outside of the lantern.  I Gently applied patina and they were finished.

I have a very stressful full time job and have discovered that working on stained glass allows me to "escape" for hours at a time.  I have found the escape to be addictive!

Oh yes!!  Keeps me sane  (well, - sort of) !!!
Thank you for sharing how you made the lanterns.   I can see why everyone wanted to take them home,  they are very effective.   Enjoy this week-end's  'escape'!

Wow, they are all great, I especially like the lanterns and the last panel.
I can't really say how many things I have going at once, technically I have 2 sitting on my table but there are probably a few more I am not thinking of lol.

It is most definatly an addictive hobby but it keeps me sane too like others have said :) I wonder what about it makes it that way because it's also frusterating at times?

Keep posting pictures, we love to see what everyone makes :)

These are all very nice...especially the last green one.  I really like to do weekend projects as well...instant gratification. :)  I haven't done too many of them lately though.

Very nice projects!  Thanks for posting them Glasisfun!  I agree with you on the weekend projects in between the larger ones.  I just finished working on a couple of fairly large projects..and to get my instant gratification needs met..I usually do through in a small project, something I can finish quickly (and add to my craft show collection) in the middle between the larger items.  LOL..I've found it a good way to save my sanity.

But then..glassing in itself, saves my sanity.

Keep the projects and pics coming!
