I have been working in the studio a bit this week between grandkids and head aches
Not that the two have anything to do with each other, they do not. I am just a head case sometimes

Last winter I painted two heads and when the spring sun returned they completely washed out. Also Mary's nose was too wide. So I decided to make two more. But this time I did them on one sheet of glass instead of taking the time to do a foil panel like last year. My goal was MORE contrast. Darker! I like the results but again I messed up Mary's nose . Poor Mary. I tried to correct it and just made things worse. Oh well.

I have friends in Germany who have been VERY good to me over the years. These will go to them, once framed.

The first photo is just the first black mat. I then added matts of Bister Brown, Umber brown, Flesh Red, and silver stain.

The photos did not pick up a lot of the yellow in the halo, over exposed. I look forward to seeing these when full sun comes in my windows in the next week or so. It is on the trees now, windows are next.

Then I started adding some shading and silver stain to this doodle I did in Dick Millards class last summer. If I like it when it is done I will send it to him.

His mantra is "Practice, practice, practice so I am trying."

very nice work there Judy.  Good to hear that you won't be waiting much longer for the sun to be in your windows again

Looking good Judy.  I bet the sun will be a blessing when you can feel the warmth.

You are soooo talented girl!  I love these, I feel that you did an outstanding job on them!  I'd have a really hard time parting with "the doodle", but I'll bet that Dick would be pleased (and proud of you) when he receives it.

Nice, nice job!

I love the Mary...she looks like a woman someone could talk to rather than iconic perfection. St. Konrad..wow..the beard...

Malinda years ago I learned how to let go of my creations by taking good photos of them. Then I can still enjoy my babies but not be tripping over them. Better to spread them around and make enough money to create more babies. I have many photos and now and then go looking for one. In the hunt I find photos of stuff I had forgotten . It is like seeing an old friend. Get a good camera :)
