The panel is 16x20 with a lead H came frame supported with a wire sling. I think by weaving the lead at the top the pieces would be stable, also adding some restrip would be of benefit, but I see the points you make and agree..these could be future problems. Not everyone is going to weave the lead or add restrip...so...I made some revisions to the design so that would not be necessary.

An additional thought since your intention is to sell the design:  Perhaps you should size the drawing to fit an oval wood frame so that the customer just drop it in and have a beautiful (and expensive) product or they can use it as it is with a  lead or zinc border.  You probably would have to buy a frame to check the size.

An example of frames and oval sizing:  http://www.warner-criv.com/search/search.aspx?type=dept&strSearch=250

Are the quoted sizes the front opening size or the size the panel fits into from the back?

As there is no way of knowing what size people would want, I'll just add that if they have a frame they intend to place it into, to give me the dimensions so I can resize it to fit.

Call WC to find out about the size.  I am sure they know or can measure for you.
I would make the first one to fit one frame so that you have done design which offers the customer two options.

I will not be putting mine in a frame. I personally do not like oak frames, I prefer the look of the lead or zinc unless the oak frame is painted.

That was not the first place for me to look either. I think I will move it to the lead section.

Kev, I have to ask a question, cause I just don't see it.  How are you gonna cut the bottom piece at her leg and the skate line?, besides extra careful LOL.  Looks almost like a 90 degree cut to me.

It's actually rounded out. It's just hard to see in the little pic.

The recipient will be thrilled! she is such a fan of skating. I have been wanting to make something special for her in this theme for many years. I think this will do the trick nicely.
