Forwarned is forearmed. use UPS, they are delivering as promised.
I ordered something from HP recently, Fed-ex is the shipper.
Paypal- 29th November Confirm - 29th Shipped - 30th 1st and 2nd - shipping number still not logged at Fed-ex.
Expected it yesterday or today as it was in St, Louis, Missouri at the weekend.
BUT, this evening I see it is in Minn/St.Paul!!!!!
So far the package has travelled 859 miles.... As the crow flies, Origin to me is 430 miles.
My point, DON'T USE FEDEX!
They just don't know what the other hand is up to. Last Saturday they dumped a 413lb international shipment in my driveway. No ring on the door, no signature request, nothing but the expectation that I was sitting at the computer waiting to see it had been delivered to the WRONG driveway, the front driveway is on a different street to the delivery address. Instructions clearly stated which driveway I wanted it delivered to. The delivery depot was closed, Head Office gave me the run around. I had to ask a neighbor for help.
The red dot on the map is where the current package should be....sigh

I can understand your frustration Y...unfortunately Fed Ex flies to one of their hub sites and then sorts and disperses the packages from their..the closest hub to whereever the package was shipped could actually be further away from your location than the origin of the package.
They should, however, have come to your door for a sign off for delivery..but many of the drivers no longer do this..which is bothersome. Particularly when they are dropping off something expensive or at the wrong address or delivery point.
It happens with almost all type of delivery services though...I remember hearing a story about USPS, who was supposed to deliver a Christmas package for a co-worker to her sons address for the holidays a few years ago...he lives in Chicago..he never received his Christmas gift from his mother (well, she had to rebuy it.... after a long process of trying to prove to the postal service that he never actually received it.) They found out a few weeks after the holidays that it had been dropped off in the lobby of the wrong building. And it was sent as Express mail, requiring a signature of delivery. Some kind (and honest) person at the other building eventually found him after the holidays and delivered his very late gift.
What I think it comes down to is..they don't ask for signatures these days..people are usually not at home when delivery occurs..or the delivery person may have quite a load of deliveries and no time to stop, or they are just plain lacksidaisical about their job...
It makes one wonder how best to "get it there"... De

This was an International delivery, the UK excess baggage agent does require confirmation of delivery, it's stated on the insurance papers. As for the computer stuff, it's ground shipping. The stuff from England came via St. Louis, MO last week [6 hrs by road from here] so why would something shipped from Memphis 3 days before the UK stuff left PA take an extra week. They have F...ouled up mightily.
Forgot to mention... there is no snow down this way ...yet!

You want snow? I have extra.
I too had the shipping gremlin this year. I ordered lots of glass from California. The shipping bill was $390. It should have taken 10 days becuase it includes a long boat ride. The computer said it Left Seattle and was in Anchoage 1/2 hour later. 3 weeks went by and I started hunting for my glass. Finally the subcontract shipper who recieves it from UPS found it in Seattle at UPS main distribution. They also found freight for a customer in North Pole, whose freight was lost the same day as mine.
Other than the person on the phone who took the UPS locator call from me, I NEVER heard from UPS again. And she promised she would call back in 24hrs, "by 7:50am tomorrow". They did tell the glass distributer they were not charging me for my shipping. But they did not tell me or the trucking company I was supposed to give the COD to. CRAZY!
It all worked out in the end. Nothing was broken and I did not have to pay the shipping. But Isn't it weird that they did not charge me shipping without even having me file a claim. And they lost other stuff the same day. Makes me think they had a major Home Land Security screw up and did not want any offical claims or digging going on.

No thanks to the snow, they say we have some coming for the weekend and I don't want to carry it south on tuesday. Your story was quite an episode. Mine is just darn irritating and annoying, I would be in Florida by now if I hadn't had to wait on customs for the UK stuff.

Well, have a safe drive south. The weather is wintery this year for sure!
I saw a Christmas card yesterday with Santa in a VW van. It made me think of you Y

Was it orange and white?
The package is in Kansas! HP sent me a customer satisfaction survey today.. I don't normally bother with that stuff... I did respond this time...

Glad it arrived.
Yes, the van on the card was white on top and orange on the bottom. It is a swinging card. Have you seen it? Or was your van orange and white? My home on wheels was light blue.
Safe travels girlfriend.

Yes, it was a Dormobile bored out to 1600 with twin Weber carbys. rego was 161 DLE until we registered it on duty free Q plates, then it became the orange cutie. Number was QT sumpthing. This faded photo is early days, almost 3 yrs and more stickers made it look more like a hippy van.
